When the skies are moody and the roads are slick with rain or snow, or pine needles you need a vehicle that thrives in all-season, all-terrain conditions. The 2012 Ford Escape Limited AWD is a compact SUV that does just that. Rugged enough for a ferry trip to the San Juan Islands, nimble enough to squeeze into a tight Capitol Hill parking spot, and comfortable enough for a drive along the North Cascades Highway, this Escape makes itself right at home in the Pacific Northwest.
Finished in Ingot Silver Metallic, this Escape shines against the backdrop of foggy evergreens and mountain sunbursts alike. Its confident stance is matched with a clean CARFAX and just 63,771 miles remarkably low for a 2012. Its been fully inspected and reconditioned, meaning its ready for whatever your Washington lifestyle throws its wayfrom weekend getaways to Whidbey to weekday commutes through the Tacoma Narrows.
Under the hood is Fords reliable Duratec 3.0L V6 Flex Fuel engine paired with a smooth-shifting 6-speed automatic transmission. The intelligent all-wheel drive system gives you peace of mind whether youre cruising through a spring downpour or heading up to Crystal Mountain during snow season. With the 4,600 lbs GVWR payload package, it's also tough enough to handle your bikes, boards, and cargo.
Inside, youre greeted with Charcoal Black leather-trimmed heated front seats that are perfect for chilly mornings near Mount Rainier or misty drives along the coast. The cabin layout is straightforward and functional, with thoughtful touches like a power-adjustable drivers seat, remote keyless entry, and steering wheel-mounted audio controls that keep your hands where they belongon the wheel, eyes on the winding road ahead.
Bluetooth hands-free connectivity and USB ports let you stay connected, while the AM/FM/CD/MP3 system with Sirius Satellite Radio keeps the tunes flowing no matter how far off the grid you wander. And if you're loading up for an extended trip or a Costco run, the split-folding rear seats provide ample space for gear, groceries, or even your four-legged co-pilot.
The Escape Limiteds 16" bright machined aluminum wheels add a bit of flash to its practical profile, and fully automatic headlights plus electronic stability control work behind the scenes to keep your drive safe and smooth. Its the kind of vehicle that doesnt shout for attention but delivers where it countsquiet confidence and long-lasting dependability.
This isnt just a crossoverits a time-tested companion built for the real roads and weather of Washington. Whether youre running errands in Everett, catching sunsets at Deception Pass, or chasing trails outside Spokane, the 2012 Ford Escape Limited AWD is a reminder that good things come in clean, capable packages.
Adventure-ready, city-smart, and loaded with valuethis Escape is exactly the kind of no-nonsense, all-season ride that fits the rhythm of life in the Pacific Northwest.

Better than expected
By MsSRyder | on Sunday, April 05, 2009
I purchased this vehicle based on economic logic. To my surprise, I really like the car. It drives very comfortably and has plenty of space. The gas mileage really can be 34 mph and even higher, depending on how you drive: slow city driving, bumper to bumper jams and rolling through foothills you can easily get 40 mpg. Unfortuantely, I am a freeway driver and always in a hurry. I tend to get about 27 - 28 mpg with my driving habits. My first impression is that is was made for a man -- everything is flat and hard, not curvey or soft. The seat was uncomfortable at first. I don't know if it molded to my body or if I just got used to it. But, after 7,000 miles I don't notice it any more. It has plenty of power for my needs -- typical mom stuff. Very quiet when in electric mode, a bit noisy when using gas but not as noisey as a typical truck. I love the Sync -- it makes so much sense and is easy to set up & use. I just tell my car to call home and talk like my family is in the car with me. Sync my iPod, plug in my laptop, etc. Very techno friendly. I have been a toyota driver for 30 years and really wanted a Lexus Hybrid, but could not justify the cost to mileage ratio. I was very reluctant to switch to Ford but now I am glad I gave it a chance.… - 5.0
I love my Escape

So great I’m going to buy another. My current Escape is a 2009. In all these years I have never had a repair. 95% of my driving is highway and my average mpg is 24.… - 4.0
2008 not the best year for the Ford Escape.
By Jim | on Friday, January 25, 2013
2008 was not the best year for the Ford Escape. Early on had trouble with the transmission fluid cooler. Water pump went out early. The heating and cooling system is difficult to adjust. The glove box is a little small. The gas mileage is not bad for a V-6, can get 23-25 highway if I hold the speed to 65 or less and the road is not too hilly. Do like that V-6, gives plenty of pep and is really holding up well after 120,000 miles. Like driving it and hope to keep it to 200,000.…
