    Reviews:
    * If you’re on a modest budget but don’t want to give up comfort or convenience, you’ll appreciate Kia’s approach to the compact SUV segment. And, while its V6 engine produces little more power than Honda’s in-line four, you’ll appreciate the V6’s smoothness with every tip of the accelerator. Source: KBB.com

      Great Vehicle for the money!

I've owned my Sportage since 2007 and have put over 146,000 on it. Overall, it has been incredibly reliable with no major issues. There have been some minor issues, like with the sunroof, seat warmers, and windshield wipers, but as much as I drive (over 70 miles daily, sometimes on gravel), I haven't experienced any mechanical issues, knock on wood! The battery is still original to the car, too...it has been "dead" a couple of times, but it has come back after charging it. I test drove a BMWx3 prior to purchasing my Sportage. For the most part, my Sportage has about everything the BMW had for a fraction of the cost.

      You get your moneys worth!

When I bought this car, this was not the car I wanted to buy. I didnt even know Kia existed. I wanted one that I didnt even test drive because the price had gone up too far for me to make the payments. So my mom and I just started going to all dealers and testing their SUVs. I drove quite a few that were within my price range. We got to Kia and we were running out of SUVs to drive that were within my range. She was now trying to convince me to test drive the Rio, which I did not like, and I saw the SUVs and asked to test drive one. My mom asked me at the end of the test drive from the back seat if we had just found the car? Out of all the SUVs that I tested this was so comfortable to me. It was my car. I drove out of there with it. I lost the 10yr/100K warranty only because I bought it in PR and 4 yrs later I moved to GA and the warranty did not follow it. But even then, this was a darned good car. It never broke down on me. The one issue I had with it turned out to be the fuel from Racetrack that I was putting in it. It gave my car the shakes. I stopped fueling from there and it never happened again. I wish Kia had kept the sportier look for the Sportage.

      2009 Sportage

Have about 6000 mile on it now. got the 4 cyl. It's a bit under powered but it runs and drives beautiful. I like the styling, it has standard features like 6 air bags and 4 wheel disc brakes that you don't get with most american cars. It even has reclining seats in the rear, nice touch. MPG is great. I average 26 highway and 23-24 around town. Got mine with a $3500. rebate and at $17,600 it's a great value. The only thing i'd change is i'd go to the 6 cyl. T J
